At Staging 2 Sell It, we are a fully insured, woman-owned, family-founded home staging and interior design studio based in Marshalltown and serving clients throughout Central Iowa. With a professional interior design background and more than a decade of staging experience, we bring together thoughtful design and real estate strategy to help homes stand out in a competitive market.
We believe staging is about more than making a home look beautiful. We stage homes to make sense to buyers. Every decision is intentional, from furniture placement and scale to sight lines, flow, function, photography, and the way a buyer experiences the home in person. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all formula, we consider the architecture, price point, location, and likely buyer for each property to create a design that feels natural to the home while keeping the property itself the star.
Our services extend beyond vacant staging to include occupied and listing-prep consultations, interior design, real estate photography, builder model homes, apartment models, and more. Whether we're preparing a property for market or helping a homeowner create a space they love living in, our approach begins with listening and is guided by experience, strategy, and thoughtful design.
With a large, carefully curated inventory and an approximately 8,000-square-foot warehouse, we have the flexibility to select furnishings, artwork, and accessories specifically for each project rather than repeating the same look from home to home. Based in Marshalltown, we regularly serve Ames, Ankeny, Bondurant, Boone, Cedar Falls, Des Moines, Waverly, Waterloo, and communities throughout Central Iowa.

Behind the Design
Meet Alushia
Owner + Lead Designer, Staging 2 Sell It
Alushia Fitzgerald is the owner and lead designer behind Staging 2 Sell It, bringing more than two decades of interior design experience and a deep understanding of real estate to every project.
After earning her degree in Interior Design from Harrington College of Design in Chicago, Alushia began her career designing model homes for a Chicago real estate developer. That early experience shaped the way she approaches design today: not simply as a way to make a space beautiful, but as a tool to influence how people understand, experience, and connect with a home.
Her career has taken her from Chicago high-rises to homes throughout the Midwest, along with a three-year chapter living in South Korea. Those experiences helped shape a design perspective that blends timeless style, practical function, and an appreciation for spaces that feel collected rather than formulaic.
Alushia joined Staging 2 Sell It in 2016, working alongside her mom and company founder, Debra Hippler, before purchasing the business in April 2025. Today, she leads the creative direction of the studio and personally develops the design strategy behind its staging and interior design projects.
For Alushia, staging is about much more than filling an empty house with furniture. Every decision considers scale, flow, sight lines, photography, architecture, function, and the buyer most likely to connect with the property. With a large curated inventory to pull from, each home is styled individually rather than following a one-size-fits-all formula.
The goal is simple: we don't stage homes simply to make them look pretty. We stage them to make sense to buyers.
That same thoughtful approach carries into Staging 2 Sell It's interior design work, where Alushia helps homeowners, builders, and developers create spaces that are beautiful, functional, and intentionally designed for the people who will actually live in them.
When she's not designing, staging, or wandering the warehouse looking for just the right piece of art, Alushia is usually involved in the Marshalltown community, planning her next trip, tackling a project at home, or spending time with her family and rescue pup, Maddie.
