The Holly & Ivy event turns the Salisbury House into a winter wonderland by inviting interior designers, home stagers, florists, and private individuals to decorate the main and second floors. This year we decorated (and furnished) the Historic Kitchen and Pantry.
Salisbury House is a grand mansion located in Des Moines, Iowa. It was built by the Weeks family in 1923 and was their home from 1926-1954. The estate sits on nearly 10 acres and boasts 42 rooms. Many of the architectural details were salvaged from various historic and contemporary sites in England as well as many other sites. The non-profit, Salisbury House Foundation (SHF) was formed in 1993. It manages and maintains the home as a historic house museum.
